The Foresters is a traditional country pub surrounded by beautiful woodland between Church Crookham and Aldershot. Steeped in history and full of character, our pub has been welcoming guests since 1857 – first licensed in the days of horse-drawn barges along the Basingstoke Canal.
Decorated with natural timber from the surrounding woods, The Foresters blends rustic countryside charm with modern comfort – the perfect place to stop after your woodland walk.

A Place with History
Built in the 1800s, The Foresters was once one of three inns serving barge captains travelling the Basingstoke Canal. These hardworking foresters would stop here in their knee breeches and buckled shoes to share stories and raise a glass – a tradition of hospitality we proudly continue today.

Step into our award-winning pub garden, a peaceful retreat that feels like the middle of nowhere. With more outdoor space than the pub itself, it’s perfect for summer afternoons, family gatherings and sunny weekend lunches.
In winter, the atmosphere moves indoors around our spectacular hanging-basket log fire – the heart of the restaurant. Specials are chalked up on the fire surround and throughout the dining room, adding to the homely, relaxed feel.
